MUNICH-BASED, SOFTWARE ENGINEER

As part of our team you will build, operate and maintain our services. You will work with our entire stack encompassing a wide range of technologies. We have some challenging obstacles ahead that certainly will be outside your comfort zone. Not only will you have to problem-solve with your team, you will also work on pushing the boundaries and develop new features for our products and make them more reliable and robust.


What We Do

Our in-house built ACR (Audio Content Recognition) system is constantly monitoring more than 500 TV feeds around the world. The system detects TV commercials and delivers the information to other systems in real-time.

We are constantly improving our systems beyond the normal feature development, to drive its efficiency and increase its reliability and performance. Large parts of the original ACR system have been rewritten in Golang.

We use automated testing to ensure reliability as we are operating a distributed system involving many services across the globe. Our system is processing more than 3 Gbit of incoming audio-/video-signal in real-time, generating fingerprints and running our sophisticated matching algorithm against the in-house database, each second of the day. We don’t simply test and release but use telemetry data and sampling extensively to gain insights of our system in production.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, operate and troubleshoot our services, powering our products in an agile team setting
  • Solve problems that impact our system and build automation to prevent recurrence
  • Influence new features and products within their entire lifecycle from conception to production
  • Continuously improve and ship our services to production

Who We’re Looking For:

Minimum qualifications

  • A degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in one or more of these languages: Java, Python, Go, PHP
  • Experience building scalable web services in a globally distributed environment
  • Experience working in a test-driven environment and automated deployments
  • Experience working in a Linux environment and configuring services autonomously
  • Very good English language skills, German language skills a plus
  • Must be eligible to work in the European Union

Preferred qualifications

  • Expertise in automation from the build pipeline, the deployment to provisioning hosts for the first service deploy
  • Expertise in Linux/Unix systems from kernel to shell

MUNICH-BASED, INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER

As part of our team you will work on our infrastructure, including our TV monitoring system, which allows us to detect TV ads in real-time across hundreds of channels around the globe. The infrastructure is the foundation of our highly available distributed system.

The Ideal Candidate can:

  • Regularly transform/load client data files while conducting detailed data quality checks
  • Perform data analysis of modeling results and present findings to clients in both written documents and presentations directly to clients
