Our “5 Questions With …” series puts a spotlight on the great talent we have at TVSquared. Next up is Shona Maguire, our Product Marketing Manager, who joined the company in 2017. She specializes in B2B and SaaS product marketing.
- What is your favorite part of working at TVSquared?
We work with an incredibly dynamic and intelligent group of people and, for me, that’s the best part of working here. The entire development team is made up of problem solvers. When we are thinking about how to improve and package products, it’s a collaborative discussion – with a focus on positive idea generation. This makes the role so much more rewarding.
2. Is there an aspect of your role you’re particularly excited about right now?
I’m working on product marketing around a very exciting partnership, which is keeping me really busy. This involves working with different teams to create tailored messaging and supporting collateral. It’s extremely fast-paced, but there are lots of opportunities to be creative, and I love a challenge!
3. What has been your biggest challenge in your role here?
When I started, it was only four days before my manager left on a -month sabbatical. I’m proud that I got up to speed quickly, while achieving the objectives and standards that were expected of me. There was a lot to learn in a short amount of time, but I had a fantastic, concise handover and the team was very supportive.
- What’s your favorite TV ad campaign?
I really loved the Greenpeace Rang-tan, which is an animated story of dirty palm oil. It was banned from being broadcast in the UK when Iceland, a supermarket in the region, proposed using it as its Christmas spot. The ad was banned on political grounds, but later released via Iceland’s social media channels – it gained quite a bit of media attention for both the brand and Ofcom, the UK’s TV regulator. It was impactful and definitely memorable.
- After a busy day, how do you like to relax?
I like a hot yoga session followed by a cool glass of Sauvignon Blanc!
