Today, and every day, TVSquared is committed to celebrating the social, economic and cultural achievements of women worldwide. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re highlighting some of the incredible women who make a positive difference at our company each day.
Here’s part one of our interview series:
Regina Berengolts, Head of Data Science
What excites you the most about working in TV measurement and working at TVSquared? “Working at TVSquared is exciting for two main reasons. First, the people are incredibly smart and supportive and, secondly, although TV measurement may not seem to be the most glamorous of fields, the company (and I’m particularly proud to say this specifically of my team) is at the forefront of a lot of innovation in terms of attribution measurement methodology.”
What’s your best piece of advice for young girls and other women when it comes to gender equality and diversity, overall, in the workplace? “Despite all the positive steps and momentum towards equal representation, it’s still natural to feel some anxiety as women working in predominantly male fields and organizations. This anxiety and worry is natural and is not a blocker or deterrent to exceptional performance or recognition. The best piece of advice that I can give is that women should confidently acknowledge and own the value that they bring to a team and a company. Women often approach problems differently and should use that as a strength rather than as a reason for feeling like you don’t belong. Reframe problems, connect with the right mentors, and make your voice heard.”
Who or what inspires you most? “I believe that inspiration is something that motivates you to be better and do better. At a day to day level, I find my motivation comes from seeing all the great, hard-working, and smart people around me and believing that I play a role in enabling them to achieve even more and reach more of their potential.”
Jo Kinsella, President
What excites you the most about working in TV measurement and working at TVSquared? “Revolutionizing an entire industry and collaborating with some of the smartest people to drive TV to be better for the consumer and the advertiser. The team at TVSquared has built something unprecedented: a technology platform that will change the way TV is measured and bought to target the right audience and a team that is built on a culture of humble belief, greatness and striving to be the best at what we do.”
What’s your best piece of advice for young girls and other women when it comes to gender equality and diversity, overall, in the workplace? “Speak up. Own your future. You are capable of anything you set your mind to. To quote George Koufalis, ‘The dream is free. The hustle is sold separately.’”
Who or what inspires you most? “Change. It’s scary, it’s where growth happens. Step out of your comfort zone and welcome transformation.”
Emily Walters, Head of Service Design
What excites you the most about working in TV measurement and working at TVSquared? “We are at the forefront of our industry, creating cutting-edge digital experiences for our customers—that makes TVSquared a pretty cool place to work. The world has seen huge disruption caused by COVID-19, which has meant that our market moved at an exponential pace over that time period. More so than ever before, people and businesses need data to make informed and timely decisions. We’ve got a fantastic product that has enabled us to continuously deliver the results for our customers and we are flexible enough to adapt and thrive at the rate they have needed. This is the ultimate test in today’s world, and we have the infrastructure and teams in place to adapt and thrive. That goes to show how forward thinking and smart our team are. It certainly makes me proud to be part of a great business.”
What’s your best piece of advice for young girls and other women when it comes to gender equality and diversity, overall, in the workplace? “Whatever you choose to do, do it with love and kindness. Life is hard and there will always be people, male and female, who will try to get in your way, or don’t want to see others succeed, which can feel disappointing as you go through life. You’ve got to lift your head high, work hard and always believe in yourself – you can do anything you put your mind to.
Who or what inspires you most? “Kids and family would be my absolute number one motivator and inspiration. Given children are our future and the next generation in the workplace, they are the most important people to nurture in today’s world, as well as learn from. In the business world, I always like to think about a trailblazing woman who’s winning at life. At the moment, I would say that has to be Sara Blakely. She’s created tights for a firm butt, juggles four young kids, has a successful marriage and runs a billion-dollar business. Her Instagram is great, and she keeps it real. She’s always rocking it for the female world – now that’s inspiration.”
Alyson Finneran, Sr. Solutions Consultant – Brand Insights
What excites you the most about working in TV measurement and working at TVSquared? “I have worked in TV for 13 years and the landscape has evolved tremendously in that time. Living in a COVID/post-COVID era has really awakened advertisers to change. The need to prove their TV campaigns are providing positive ROI, and the ability to buy TV based on strategic targets is of utmost importance. Being at a company that is at the forefront of this change and can offer advertisers solutions for both ROI and targeting is really powerful and something to be excited about!”
What’s your best piece of advice for young girls and other women when it comes to gender equality and diversity, overall, in the workplace? “I believe that it is so important for women (especially) to work at companies that value hard work and look to elevate based on that work. When that work is not being valued, learn to recognize that and make the necessary changes to keep moving your career forward.”
Who or what inspires you most? “I am constantly inspired by my co-workers and team members who all work tirelessly on behalf of their clients: always willing to go the extra mile, to make their clients happy. This dedication really inspires me to do the same and keep pushing the business forward.”
Stay tuned for more interviews throughout March!
